Summer closing in

A mere 7 days of work until summer vacation.  Ahh.  I've taken full advantage of my 3 day weekend this weekend and been absolutely lazy.

I've also decided that a Catholic should never marry a Jew.  Catholic guilt is bad.  Jewish mother-in-law guilt is worse.  Pooh called his mom to let her know that we changed our trip, and she was upset that we didn't invite them (meaning my 65 yo mother-in-law and my 69 year old wheelchair bound father-in-law) to the concert.  The Police concert.  Does she even know who that is?  Regardless, Pooh is a bad son and I'm a bad daughter in law for not inviting (btw, they don't want to go, but it's still brought up with each phone call).

Other than that, though, she's actually excited we switched dates.  Seems we'll overlap with Pooh's oldest brother and his family, and I think it's been at least 3 years since we've seen them.  Hopefully just by a day or two though.  We're also going to see Jesus Christ Superstar and to some exhibit at the MFA.  I'm actually looking forward to all of the trip except for the actual staying at the house.

Now to clean the kitchen before our cook out company.  So much for absolutely lazy all weekend!

Thank you to some LJ friends and their posts about Memorial Day.  Gave me some much needed perspective.  Makes all the complaining I do seem a little pathetic.
