Well we made it back from Massachusetts today in one piece. After driving the entire 14 hour trip in one day on the way up, we opted to break the trip up and stopped in MD last night at our hotel that takes dogs and just happens to be right next to a sushi bar. However, due to unforeseen traffic, we arrived shortly after 10PM, and the sushi bar closed at 10. Which was fine for me, but Pooh was a bit annoyed. He settled for an Asian chicken salad instead.
Shopping wise it was a disappointing trip. The close outlets in Wrentham didn't have much, Christmas Tree Shops had nothing, which is unusual. IKEA turned out to be our best spot, and even then I couldn't get too much to take back - mainly because Pooh wanted large recycling containers for paper/cans to go into the office, so those ended up taking a lot of car space. We did learn, however, that when IKEA opens in Charlotte that we will have to find occasions to go there. It is a funky fun store.
Our trip into Boston itself was fun, but not profitable. The original Filene's Basement was completely gone this time, and they were gutting the building. Newbury Street didn't interest me much this time, except for the Lisa Lill studio which wasn't open when we first passed it, and then I forgot I had wanted to go in until we were way over by the aquarium. Fortunately Abbie got a glowing report from the people at day camp, and proceeded to play extremely well with her cousin Bella when we got back to the house that day. Thank Dog she wasn't a little snot.
And we picked up our Grendel monster from his grammy's house, where he got daily brushing, all the treats he could eat, and a tablespoon of milk every morning. I swear his belly looked bigger, and boy is he a spoiled kitty now. Hope he's not expecting that from us.
