Today is Mothers' Day, and I am damn lucky to have such a cool mom. :) We started tge day and my big mothers' day present was that Marc took Abbie out at 6:50 and I got to sleep until 8. Whoopeedo. We alternate mornings every weekend.

Breakfast at Brigg's was next. Tom and Shelley were supposed to meet us with the kids, but late last night Shelly called to say she was just to exhausted to get up and be there by 9:30. So we planned on a cookout later in the day, and Marc and I just took mom & dad out.

After breakfast was the Farmers' Market, and while we're walking around my mobile rings and it's Tom, asking for Mom. He explains to her that they jsut have too much to do today and won't be over for dinner, but might stop over with the kids later in the afternoon. Needless to say, this is Shelley's doing. WHy did God give me such a rotten SIL?

Actually it was nicer not to have dinner with them, mainly because I wouldn't get stuck cooking AND cleaning for them. Most of the day I did spend thinking that if all had gone well, I would be as big as a house and ready to pop about this time. Hopefully next year.

Front flower beds are looking better. I bought, among other things, some "creeping jenny" today but as soon as I planted it and researched it a bit, I am almost ready to go rip it out. Pretty yellow flowers, but they compared it to a weed. After reading that, on Abbie and Leko's walk, we passed several houses that has tons of yellow blooming plants - you guessed it, creeping jenny.

My next goal is to sketch out the beds and label what I have in them, because if the man hadn't told me what the stuff I bought today was, and I didn't write it down, I would never remember. Since I only have the luxury of Anita here at Christmas time, I want to get them looking good before they come.
