They had to put down Masha, one of the two polar bears at the NC Zoo who was rescued from a Mexican circus several years ago. Apparently the cruelty he suffered there was too much, despite the excellent care he received at the zoo. Makes me angry to think about it.
Here he is with his friend, Wilhelm, when I saw them back in April.
