Wow, July 16th already. I am more than halfway done with my summer. By this time I have usually gone to Boston and complained the whole time and moaned and groaned at least once about being called into school. Neither has happened. What's wrong with this summer??

I spent a good portion of June getting ready for the small business fair that was held July 7th at church. Sue did as well. The debut of House of Abbie and Sunshine Designs was a major disappointment, to put it mildly. The "small business fair" was actually a huge junky yard sale. We were the only two selling anything that was new. And our table was tucked way at the back, so that anyone who walked in, saw all of the literal junk, and walked out totally missed us. So disappointing to sell NOTHING. Oh well. I have a huge arsenal of purses ready to go.

We've made a minor dent in cleaning up some of the closed door rooms in the house. We may actually get the master bath redone before we hit the year mark in September. I can put most of my clothes in my closet (need a Goodwill trip first). The library has become my sewing room, so we cleaned about 10-15 boxes worth of stuff out of there. Yesterday pooh bought me a great old Singer industrial sewing machine that I can use to chew through collars with no trouble (I need to post about that in my sewing blog). That will also have to fit in the sewing room somehow, so the remaining boxes will have to be gone through. Of course, in the meantime Grendel is enjoying sprawling out on the table part of the machine and batting around the spool of thread. We have such high priced kitty entertainment.

My work laptop arrived and I just upgraded the RAM to 2 gigs - for a whopping $69. Hehe I remember buying 2 megabytes of RAM for my first ever computer for $200. At that rate my new memory would have been $200,000. Anyway, I'm using this instead of my desktops now and it's rather nice. It does run WoW as well but 5 minutes is about all I can stand of that these days.

In three weeks we'll be stuck at the beach with my family for a full week - yes the WHOLE family - 10 adults and 6 kids, and our two fuzzy kids. I was just looking at the house again and I hope we all survive. Pooh and I have been discussing the practicality of taking two cars. It would be nice to have the convertible at the beach, but with gas prices and pollution is it really worth it? I've not been to this part of the NC coast before so I'm not sure how close things are, or if we'll even be driving much. Plus the fact that if it's over 90 degrees Pooh doesn't want the top down anyway. I have a feeling we'll just be taking Grasshopper.

Today is my mom's birthday. She's a totally awesome 77 today. :) We're off to shopping, lunch and a movie.
