I am officially 3 days into my summer vacation, and wouldn't you know, I am sick. I had a minor sniffle last Monday that I hoped wouldn't keep me from Kings Dominion with the kids, and it didn't. But now it's turned into this minor cough - the kind that doesn't affect you until you're ready to go to bed, and once you're flat you can't stop coughing. For a tummy sleeper, sleeping with your head elevated is a killer. Oh, the other thing that sets it off is spicy salsa... had a fit at Salsarita's today, too.

The week was fine. The kids were good on Tuesday on their trip, I got stuck walking around with parents. I did go on one roller coaster, the Anaconda, and it was better than I thought. Hadn't been on one since we took Andrew to Busch several years ago. The half day of school on Wednesday was a little long and the kids were wild. We had a suprise lunch for Jane at Bogart's after than, and I had forgotten that they had lovely infused vodka... mmmm. Would have been much better had the idiot from across the hall not gone, but as he said "(he's) not one to miss a free meal!" (said with the approriate southern accent and doofus laugh at the end).

Thursday I took the foofa to be groomed and went to several nurserys. I got a great dwarf Alberta spruce for the right side of the driveway, but couldn't find the right filler plants for the pot. Will have to go in search of those tomorrow so I can get it planted before it's too hot. Yesterday was rainy and bleh, slept until almost 10, then we made our way out to see Harry Potter. Of course we had to get there an hour early, but I guess everyone had that idea because we weren't the only ones.

Another party last night, but still feeling like crud so we came home at 10. Had too much wine and caffeine, so couldn't sleep and ended up playing Diablo until after midnight.

Abbalooba is sleeping peacefully next to me on the next load of laundry that needs to go in. SHe and the foofa went to the dog park this morning and she was a maniac as usual. She would jump in the wading pool even when it didn't have water in it.. then once it did she was in there with 5-6 other dogs, having the time of her life. Of course she then had to roll around under the picnic table with a cute Boxer puppy so the two of them got filthy dirty. I think she'll probably sleep the rest of the day. Thank god :)

Ed & family are rescuing a 1 year old female Cairn terrier. Somehow it's fallen on me to get her transported from NH to MI using my rescue contacts with Wheatens in Need. How does this happen? Why can't I just say no? Anyway, she seems like a cute little girl, hopefully I'll get to meet her soon.

Off to bed, got to kick this thing.
