Fingers Crossed

A friend of mine was holding a door for me today as I was getting out of my car, and I thought, "Wow, she looks pregnant", but didn't think much more about it. She's 43, has three beautiful kids ranging from 14 to almost 3. I guess I thought she had put on weight, which happens right?

So in the course of conversation she mentions she is pregnant! She had been feeling a little run down the last few months and couldn't figure out what was wrong. She went in for a general checkup and they asked if she could be pregnant - she said no because she'd been having her periods normally. They ran a test anyway, and what do you know! She was 12 weeks along and didn't even know it.

Anyway, this is where the finger crossing and praying comes in. She's now at 17 weeks and things are not looking good. The baby's heartbeat is not strong and they're worried about her/him surviving. She didn't sound too optimistic today and it was sad. :(
